9/19/2023 0 Comments Msi dragon center bloatwareMaybe it's just that those cards are pushed too hard from AMD that they can't really take any change in system or OC.MSI’s Dragon Center software is one of the most popular options for PC gamers who want to get the most out of their systems. But, after six months of being a part of an entire subreddit that was constantly finding the "fix" or the "cause" I don't know what will happen. I wish you luck with this and I hope it does work out for you. The card also runs at 50c almost all the time which is way cooler than the red devil 5700xt I had. If I even thought about touching vram on the 5700xt it would crash and trying to OC clock speed never did anything. I can also actually overclock the card over 100mhz and up to 1000 on the vram. I literally haven't had a single issue since. After 6 months of literally having to work on the stability of the card I got rid of it and bought a 2070 super. When your the only person in a Discord chat having problems and the only person on a Radeon card it starts to get old. Even in the games that worked well the gamma was always way off and the card would drop clock speed so much sometimes that frames would fall 50-60 fps at a time jerking things around. Outside of a few titles I was constantly dialing things in. Whether it was hardware acceleration in various things or different settings in Adrenaline. The only thing I know is that when I had that card there was always some setting out app that I had to screw with or disable. Some games always ran great for me and some people never had problems. Some were on b450, x470 or x570 and it didn't seem to make a difference. As Rock, Gigabyte, and Asus users were all having the same problems. All I know is when it was having issues it didn't seem to matter who made your board. Well, I haven't had the card for months so I don't know the state of things now. I've been in here plenty of times myself to complain about Dragon Center but, at the end of the day this shit wouldn't be happening at all if you had an Nvidia card in there. The 5700xt is great when it works and it will, sometimes for quite awhile and then it will start acting up again. AMD supposedly "fixed" it.Īnyways man, if this is a new build you're talking about and you can still return the 5700xt then my advice would be to do that and spend a little extra on a 2070super, Take the card out of the equation and see the difference. I don't know exactly what you mean by " it was causing issues with Warzone, breaking 144hz mode completely" but, what you're describing has been a known issue with that card for months and months and months. Uninstall Dragon Center and don't forget the MSI_SDK that comes with it. ![]() You might think that you have everything figured out with that card but give it a week or so and then come back and tell us how it's working. People had all kinds of "fixes" to get the things stable and nothing worked for everyone. Back when all anyone was talking about on the AMD subredditt was the terrible stability of the 5700xt we polled each other for every component and iirc MSI boards anecdotally did a little better than others. I had that card for about 6 months before I finally got rid of it. Dragon Center is definitely trash bloatware but, uninstalling it never did anything for me. I had this exact same thing going with the 3800x and 5700xt on MSI x570 and that card ran like shit no matter what. I don't know if their B550 boards will have the same package that no one wants. Could be that MSI is planning on linking DC with ML on everything going forward but, it just sucks that they picked X570 to start with. Usually you buy the flagship chipset to make sure you get the best of all the options. X570 is the current AMD flagship chipset and yet they're taking that option away from us. On B450 for example you don't even have to have Dragon Center at all but you can still download and run Mystic Light as it's own app. The Razer software actually sucks too but, it beats the shit out of Mystic Light.Īnyways, the point that I was trying to make is that on every other MSI mobo Dragon Center is not permanently linked to Mystic Light. One thing that I do like is that I can link all of my RGB together through Mystic Light and just use Razer Synapse 3 to control it all. The effects that Dragon Center offer, even on a 350$ board with a MSI GPU kind of suck anyways. If you can control your board RGB, GPU, RAM and whatever else you use through bios then that's actually pretty cool. The board has a lot of RGB I/O and an infinity mirror so maybe it wouldn't make sense to fit it in bios control, I don't know. ![]() I have the x570 Meg Ace and all you can do in bios is turn the control on and off. I guess it has an extension for bios or something. ![]() Well, I don't know much about that board.
